A DeWalt Radio has two models: DeWalt DC011 Worksite Radio/Charger and DeWalt
DC012 Worksite Radio/Charger. It is a quality product by DeWalt, Inc., a company which traces its humble beginnings in 1924 when Raymond DeWalt established DeWalt Products Company with the introduction of an electric universal woodworking machine. Today, DeWalt Power Tools have more than 200 electric power tools and more than 800 accessories.

The DeWalt DC011 Worksite Radio/Charger is compatible with IPod and MP3. It lets listen to the radio while on the job. At the same time, it works as a battery charger for 7.2 to 18 volts battery packs of DeWalt. Batteries, except UniVolt, can be charged using the radio for less than one hour. It has an AM/FM digital tuner, LCD display, eight-station memory preset, and built-in clock. A DeWalt battery can be used if one wants it to function as a cordless radio. Portable satellite receivers, MP3 players, and CD players can be connected to the radio using an auxiliary port. It has speakers which are weather-resistant and highly efficient. It also has a weather-sealed charger door, 11-inch flexible antenna which is dual pivoting, and dual bass ports for maximum range and bass. Overall battery life is extended thus providing maximum runtime because of the 3-stage charging system which is built-in in the radio. The DC012 Worksite Radio/Charger has the same features as the DC011 Worksite Radio/Charger. The only difference is its weight. The DC012 weighs 14.5 pounds while the DC011 weighs 13.2 pounds.

For DC012, out of the 27 customer reviews at Amazon, 44% gave it 5 stars, 30% gave it 4 stars while 7% gave it 3 stars. Another 7% gave it 2 stars and 12% gave it 1 star. At the DeWalt website, the DC012 got 3.5 stars from 14 customer reviews.

Customers like the DC011 because it is sturdy and can stand even the most difficult weather. It is highly portable. It can be loaded at the back of the truck and left exposed to harsh elements and yet it still functions when turned on. It offers the best sound and is loud enough to be heard in the background even when working with power tools. The DC012 also gets the same positive reviews as its DC011 counterpart. Both models are highly recommended by people who have actually used them. On the downside, customers complain that the radio’s reception is bad when batteries are being charged. They have to turn off the radio because of the static it produces when batteries are being charged at the same time. Also, customers complain about the non-availability of a USB port in the DeWalt Radio models.
